The Studio
A small team of engineers, designers, and artists passionate about the craft of indie game development.
Our story
We got started thanks to a "summer" project (that lasted 2.5 years)
In 2023, Robert Hohman and his sons Oliver and Elliott started a game studio, recruited some great people, and began work on a multiplayer battle chess game. The prototype kept getting better. The game was sunset as an amazing learning experience, and we decided to turn our guns to a real game to bring to the world. One we wish existed.
TCS is a small team now - engineers, designers, and artists who share a passion for gaming and indie craftmanship.
We’re fully funded, which means the schedule is set by the game, not by a launch window or a quarterly roadmap. We are patient - we’re making one game, and we won’t compromise on quality to hit a ship date.
We're in pre-production on our first title now - a roguelike deck builder RPG. We expect to have something to show by the end of 2026.
How we work
Three things we’ve agreed on, written down so we don’t forget.
-
Respect for players
We make games we’d want to play, and we treat the people who play them the same way. No pay to win, no mechanics built to extract time - if it isn’t fun for the player, it doesn’t ship.
-
The game is done when it's done

The community is part of the studio
The players who care about our games aren't an audience — they're collaborators. We listen, we show up, we share what we're working on, and we build in public when we can. The best ideas often come from outside the building.
